Description
Aspire BVC Coils
The Aspire BVC replacement coils are the standard coil for the Aspire K1, K2, CE5, ET-S, and several other older Aspire clearomiser tanks. BVC stands for Bottom Vertical Coil, which refers to the vertical orientation of the heating element inside the coil body. They come in a pack of five and are available in 1.6Ω and 1.8Ω, both designed for MTL vaping with 50/50 or high-PG e-liquids.
Each coil has four wicking ports and organic cotton wicking, and screws into the base of the tank. If you own an Aspire K2 or K1, these are the replacement coils you need.

1.6Ω BVC Coil, 6-11W, MTL
The 1.6Ω coil is rated for 3-4.2V, which corresponds to roughly 6-11W on a variable wattage device. It produces a slightly warmer, slightly airier MTL draw compared to the 1.8Ω and is the coil most commonly pre-fitted in the K2 kit when purchased new. It is also a good choice if your device does not have variable wattage, as it performs well across most standard fixed-output batteries. Use 50/50 or high-PG e-liquids and nic salts.
1.8Ω BVC Coil, 8-13W, MTL
The 1.8Ω coil is rated for 3-5V, or roughly 8-13W, and gives a slightly tighter, cooler MTL draw than the 1.6Ω. Many long-term K2 and K1 users prefer the 1.8Ω for a draw that feels closer to a cigarette. It is also a sensible choice if you tend to use higher-strength nic salts, as the lower heat output complements a cooler inhale at higher nicotine levels. Use 50/50 or high-PG e-liquids.
What is BVC Technology?
BVC refers to the Bottom Vertical Coil construction used in this coil series. The heating wire runs vertically inside the coil body, surrounded by four wicking ports that draw e-liquid in from all sides. This layout was designed to reduce dry hits by improving e-liquid flow to the cotton, and to keep the coil fully submerged in e-liquid at the bottom of the tank. The BVC format was one of Aspire’s earlier coil designs and has remained unchanged for many years, which is why the K1, K2, and CE5 tanks are still widely used today despite being older devices.
